Follow-Up Opportunities from the Toronto Meeting
The Toronto Academy meeting has been completed, but there are still many chances to learn from it. In particular, most of the All-Academy sessions and Showcase sessions and some other sessions selected by individual divisions have been audiotaped. The form for ordering audiotapes can be accessed by following the link from the Academy website or directly from the audiotape order form. We strongly encourage you to contact presenters for copies of their presentations. You can search the program book (in section C) for presenters' email and other address information, or you can go to the web version of the Toronto program, search it as a guest, click on presenters' names, and send them emails asking for copies of their papers.
Art and poetry on the meeting theme were included for the first time this year. You can see some of the art and poetry here.
There were two cases presented this year, the new time sensitive business case and the case on Involve Learning, an eLearning company headquartered in Scandinavia. Both are included on the CD-ROM distributed at the meeting. In addition, extra information about the Involve Learning case will be posted on the Academy website this fall. You can order a copy of the CD-ROM from Susan Zaid (Academy of Management, P.O. Box 3020, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510; 1-914-923-2607). The cost for CD-ROMS in the US is $20 US; for those in other countries $25 US. (If you wish expedited delivery to another country there will be an additional fee).
Finally, there are still some t-shirts ($12.00 US) left. You can order these from Heather Crowe (Academy of Management, P.O. Box 3020, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510; 1-914-923-2607) by November 30, 2000. Include $3.00 US for handling and shipping. Sale of the t-shirts benefits the efforts of Covenant House Toronto, our charity this year. Do you remember the young people who provided welcome and directions for us at the Academy meeting? Many of those young people were kids from Covenant House. We are grateful for the contributions Covenant House made to our meeting and encourage your own generosity towards Covenant House in return.
